The two expressions are equivalent

Let   x   =  log₂ (2⁴/2¹⁰)

x        =   log₂ 2⁻⁶

2ˣ    =    2⁻⁶     / note that they have the same base

∴   x   =    -6

the value of the first expression   is   -6,   dito second expression
